The selection of the material of the filter valve body depends mainly on the working pressure

The filter valve body is not only a main part of the valve, but also a representative casting. According to different process media, different materials are selected. There are commonly used cast iron, cast steel, stainless steel, carbon steel, plastic, copper and so on.

Filter valve made of gray cast iron with its low price is suitable for a wide range of applications in various industrial fields. They are often used in  the media of water, steam, oil and gas, and are widely used in chemical industry, printing and dyeing, textile, oil and many other industrial products that effects on iron pollution less or no effect.

Due to the characteristics of the material, the filter valve body is suitable for between -15~200℃ of working temperature and under the low pressure of less than 1.6MPa. If the pressure rises, the filter valve body which is made of nodular cast iron or carbon steel should be selected.

Nodular cast iron is a kind of cast iron. The change of the internal structure of this metal makes the mechanical performance better than ordinary gray iron, and it does not damage other properties. Therefore, the pressure of the filter valve body which is made of nodular cast iron is higher than those made of gray cast iron.

In addition, due to the use of carbon steel valve body has good filtering performance, and the resistance strength stress on by thermal expansion, impact load and pipeline deformation, so that the application scope has been further expanded, and is suitable for -29~425℃ of working temperature.
