Technical requirements for the design of the pump cover casting and the determination of the parting surface

Under normal circumstances, the pump cover castings mainly play a supporting role in practical applications. The pump cover casting is generally used for the outside of the part and can mainly play the role of sealing and blocking dust. In the specific processing, the accuracy requirements are general and the processing is relatively simple.

 

However, when designing, it must also meet the relevant technical requirements. First of all, we must determine the material of the pump cover castings in conjunction with the use of the situation, and should pay attention to the casting surface may not have trachoma, shrinkage holes and other defects; at the same time we must rationally design its size, to ensure reasonable casting structure. Second, we must also determine the relevant casting process plan.

 

In the production of pump cover castings, it is also necessary to reasonably select its parting surface. In general, when selecting the parting surface in production, it is necessary to combine the following principles: 1. All or most of the castings should be placed in the same half to ensure casting accuracy. If this requirement cannot be met, it is necessary to place the processing surface and the processing reference of the casting in the same half as much as possible; 2. It is necessary to reduce the number of parting surfaces as much as possible. On the other hand, the less the parting surface, the accuracy of castings is easily ensured and the number of sand boxes is reduced to reduce the amount of labor.

 

In addition, the parting surface of the pump cover casting is preferably a flat surface. This is because it not only simplifies the molding process, but also simplifies the manufacture of the template and easily ensures the accuracy of the casting. Under normal circumstances, the parting surface is selected at the maximum section of the casting, so as not to make the flask too high. High sand box, modeling difficulties, sand filling, compaction, mold removal, core removal are inconvenient, labor intensity.

 

In addition to these requirements, it is also considered to minimize the cleaning and machining of the pump cover castings. At the same time ensure the accuracy of the pump cover castings and reduce unnecessary defects.
