Method for solving shrinkage defects of Non-ferrous metal castings

In the process of producing Non-ferrous metal castings, there is often the problem of shrinkage defects in the castings. So what kind of solution should be used to solve this situation? The first is to adjust the position of the casting sprue; the second is to develop a reasonable process design process. The inner runner is recommended to be placed on the relatively thin wall of the casting, which is many times and scattered.


In this way, the molten metal which first reaches the thick wall is firstly solidified, and the thin wall is solidified afterwards, so that the Non-ferrous metal castings basically reach equilibrium solidification everywhere. For machine tool castings with uniform wall thickness, multiple gates and vents are used. There are many internal runners, scattered and evenly distributed to balance the overall heat. The venting holes are fine and numerous, that is, the exhaust gas is smooth and heat-dissipating.


In addition, for the thick and hot joints formed by the non-ferrous metal casting structure, rapid solidification is carried out, artificially causing a basic balance of temperature fields throughout the casting. For example, internal and external cold iron can be used, and zircon sand, chromite ore or special paint with large heat storage can be used for this purpose.
