Characteristics of casting process performance of the tin bronze pump body casting

In order to ensure the use performance of the tin bronze pump body casting, in the actual casting process, the content of the different elements contained in the casting need to be strictly controlled. Typically, the aluminium of the tin bronze pump body castings is within the range of 11.5 %. In addition, a certain amount of iron, nickel, manganese and other elements may be added to further enhance their use performance.
In the actual processing, we can also heat the tin bronze pump body casting, so that its use performance can be strengthened. In comparison, this type of casting has a superior strength to tin bronze castings, and has better resistance to high temperature oxidation and higher strength and wear resistance. Therefore, it can be applied to various strength requirements or to wear resistance requirements of a higher level of work.

Analyzing from the overall, in fact, the most prominent feature of this tin bronze pump body casting is its superior wear resistance. Especially after adding the appropriate amount of iron and manganese, its strength and wear resistance further improved. At the same time, after quenching and tempering treatment, the hardness also increased. Therefore, in the actual application, it can show good corrosion resistance in the atmosphere, fresh water and sea water.
However, in the actual casting process, we may encounter some problems. We found that when melting the tin bronze pump body casting with 10% aluminium the if 90 % of copper and 10 % of aluminium were to be smelt at once, the aluminum content contained in the final castings would be low.
Therefore, in the actual casting, the each half weight of the copper and aluminum is melted into the alloy. After melting into the alloy, aluminum and copper generated into solid solution. So when melting again, the aluminum is not easy to burn damage. Thus, 10 % tin bronze pump body castings can be obtained by this method.
