Valve Castings The Main Detection Process

Valve castings should have a high strength, stiffness and wear resistance, in order to maintain its accuracy does not with the cutting conditions, the use of time and other factors have obvious changes, so that the parts can be processed with the required accuracy and finish. Selection of suitable materials, heat treatment process and reasonable structure is to achieve the requirements of casting performance. Casting detection process are:

1, eye observation, for the obvious defects on the casting, such as pouring, cold serious surface defects and so on.

2, the valve castings shape measurement to ensure that meet the tolerance requirements.

3, metallographic, chemical, physical and other related casting quality inspection. The testing methods include: test pressure detection to determine the casting leakage site; ray detection, magnetic particle detection, fluorescence perspective and ultrasonic detection, etc. to detect the casting surface and internal defects; mechanical properties test to determine the mechanical properties of valve castings, such as tensile strength and hardness.

If the detected defects are not too severe, with the consent of the user, you can use welding, grinding or other remedial measures to repair the castings.
