The processing property and mechanical property of the tin bronze pump cover castings

The main material used in the process of making the tin bronze pump casting is bronze whose main alloy element is tin. The tin content of the product is generally between 3 ~ 14 %, which is mainly used to make elastic components and wear parts. The tin content of deformed tin bronze does not exceed 8 %, and sometimes phosphorus, lead, zinc and other elements are added.
The addition of lead in the material of tin bronze pump casting can improve the machinability and wear resistance, and zinc can improve casting performance. The alloy has higher mechanical properties, less wear resistance and corrosion resistance, easy cutting, good brazing and welding properties, small shrinkage coefficient and no magnetic properties. The bronze liner bushing, axle sleeve and diamagnetic elements can be prepared by wire flame spraying and electric arc spraying.
The bronze of the tin bronze pump cover castings is very hard and fusible, it can be very good casting molding in use. It is stable in the air and the product has good corrosion resistance, wear resistance, mechanical properties and process performance, and it can be well welded and brazed. It does not produce sparks when impacting. It is divided into processing tin bronze and casting tin bronze.
The tin bronze pump cover castings is the non-ferrous alloy,whose contraction percentage is minimum. It can be used to produce the castings, whose shape is complex, outline is clear and requirements of air tightness is not high. The tin bronze has good corrosion-resistant in the air, sea water, fresh water and steam. It is widely used in steam boiler and marine parts. The phosphoric tin bronze has good mechanical properties and can be used as wear-resistant parts and elastic parts of high precision machine tools.
In the process of tin bronze pump casting, the solidification process is not easy to form concentrated shrinkage cavity. The volume shrinkage of the whole product is very small, and the tin in ingot easily appears the reverse segregation of tin. The ingot surface can see white spots in serious condition, even the rich tin particles, which is commonly known as tin sweat. Improving the casting method and process conditions can reduce the degree of reverse segregation.
